Illuminate The A Project was designed to empower a coalition of civic organizations, non-profits, community organizations, the faith based community, and organizers that aim to move social and economic issues throughout Atlanta.
Through self empowerment and collaborative efforts, organizer will build around specific issues using innovative methods to create solutions around issues that impact quality of life.
In 2019 a troubled teen faces behavioral, emotional, or learning problems beyond the normal teenage issues. They may repeatedly practice at-risk behaviors such as violence, skipping school, drinking, drug use, sex, self-harming and other criminal acts. They may exhibit symptoms of mental health problems like depression, anxiety, or eating disorders. While any negative behavior repeated over and over can be a sign of underlying trouble.
Our vision is to decrease community violence and provide a safe environment for young people to challenge themselves. We will achieve this with an emphasis on education, mentoring and referral programs, and a confidence-coaching curriculum. Striving to positively impact our young people, we advocate for and empower youth by helping them to become positive role models and leaders in their community.
ACTION Youth Leadership Program is a grassroots community initiative dedicated to improving the health, education attainment, human welfare, and opportunities for youth leaders and their families in Atlanta.
To provide educational, recreational, cultural, health, and learning opportunities for youth leaders and their families.
To offer educational advancement opportunities for our youth while building lifelong leaders.
To provide a cross platform between at risk youth, nonprofit, advocates, community, and the civic community.
To positively impact our young people by advocating and empowering them through the promotion of positive role models and leaders in their community.
